Job Description:
The Head of Digital will lead the company’s digital transformation and e-commerce growth strategy, driving online revenue, customer engagement, and operational excellence across all digital channels. This role is responsible for building scalable digital capability, optimising the end-to-end customer journey, and embedding digital ways of working across the business.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership
- Own and execute the digital and e-commerce strategy aligned to overall business objectives.
- Lead the roadmap for website, mobile, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), data, and digital marketing capability.
- Partner with senior leadership to embed digital into core retail, supply chain, and finance operations.
- Build and lead a high-performing digital team with clear Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and accountability.
- Manage and evaluate external agencies, technology partners, and consultants.
E-commerce Growth & Performance
- Drive online revenue growth, conversion rate optimisation, and average order value.
- Own the commercial performance of the website and digital channels.
- Lead merchandising, product taxonomy, pricing strategy (online vs in-store), and promotions online.
- Optimise fulfilment flows (click & collect, delivery, returns) in collaboration with operations.
- Implement and monitor performance dashboards.
Digital Marketing & Customer Engagement
- Oversee paid media, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social, email/CRM, and marketplace strategies.
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, and reactivation through data-driven campaigns.
- Strengthen brand presence and digital storytelling across platforms.
- Implement personalisation and lifecycle marketing initiatives.
Technology, Data & Governance
- Own the digital platform roadmap (e-commerce platform, integrations, payment gateways, Order Management System (OMS)).
- Work closely with IT and vendors to ensure platform stability, security, and scalability.
- Champion data, analytics, and reporting to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance standards.
- Drive process improvement and automation across digital workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in digital, e-commerce, or omnichannel retail leadership with a proven
- track record of driving and scaling online revenue.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing digital Profit & Loss (P&L), e-commerce platforms,
- CRM, paid media, and analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage external agencies, and engage senior
- stakeholders.
- Experience within retail, consumer electronics, appliances, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG),
- including exposure to Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP), OMS, warehouse integration, and last-mile
- fulfilment in multi-site retail environments.
- Change management and digital transformation experience, with familiarity in platforms such as
- BigCommerce and HubSpot will be an added advantage.
